The next day you tell him you don’t remember so he doesn’t feel guilty for screaming at you Or confessing what he feels like is his failure You promise him that you’ll stop, but you don’t want to stop You want to keep going Or that light would be gone… and the dark would come back and this time it would engulf you forever with no ways out. And he catches you again and again, and at some point you stop hiding He stops yelling at you… and you wonder if he’s given up, but the truth is that he hasn’t.
He still cries when he thinks your not looking, he cries while he cleans up the mess you’ve made when you were high And when he thinks your asleep, he holds your hand and prays to the God that he doesn’t believe in And begs him to take away your pain so you can stop hurting yourself And then he begs for forgiveness for the sins he’s committed if that’s what’s causing you to hurt yourself You want to tell him it’s not his fault And you want to tell him that you’re sorry But you really can’t stop… you can’t stop
